Upon the engagement of the services of Kobaka Chambers, clients are served with a client care letter which attaches a copy of the standard terms of engagement of the Chambers. This assures a client of a high level of professional standards to be met by the Chambers in its representation of clients. Clients are obliged to agree on such other terms such as fees with the lawyer, and same shall be incorporated into the client care letter. The client, upon receipt, is then further obliged to execute the client care letter in duplicate and return a copy to the lawyer. This symbolizes a formal contractual arrangement between the client and the lawyer.
All engagements, upon initiation, attract a consultation fee.
Chambers is registered to collect VAT/NHIL.
All charges included in the Kobaka Chambers Scale of Fees are modelled on the prevailing Ghana Bar Association Scale of Fees, and are quoted exclusive of VAT/NHIL.
In offering services, Chambers takes into consideration the intellect and time employable in working towards a resolution of client’s matters. The fees therefore charged are primarily structured to compensate for the quantum of time and intellect which on average would be spent on a client’s work. As much as possible a case budget will be prepared to give the client an idea of the possible court filing fees, number of appearances, the need for expert witness and/or reports, and documentation to be prepared for the duration of the case. Fees, depending on the issue requiring services of Kobaka Chambers, may be on contingency, fixed, or retainer basis.
